Next EV Family Night (3/13/08)

On March 13th we will host another EV Family Night at the BGC. This time we are going to target 3rd, 4th and 5th grade families. The event will run from 6:30-8:00.  Teachers, Families and Students are invited to spend time at the club sharing food, games, information and activities. Hope to see you there!

Power Hour

Penny Whedon is now working with the 2nd Graders and Matt Bailey is working with the 5th graders.  A letter was sent to each teacher from the Power Hour Staff working with your students and contact information was included.  Please contact the Power Hour Staff if they can be of any assistance.

New Programs Coming

In March we will be starting some new programs at the Maxwell Clubhouse as part of ASES.

Unplugged with Buzzy – participants will be learning rhythm, beats, music and singing in a fun environment.  Look for the upcoming performance!

Junior Achievement – This program focuses on teaching students about the operations of cities, businesses and money management. The program uses fun activities to teach and assist young people with learning about how they can participate as citizens.

Tae Kwon Do
– ASES and Sonoma Tae Kwon Do Center are partnering to offer this exciting activity to El Verano 4th & 5th graders.  Twenty students will selected to participate in this program and as part of the students commitment will be that they will maintain at least a C average, demonstrate above average citizenship at school/club and perform at least one hour of community service per week at their school or the club.

Congratulations to Janice Hodsen (4th grader) for being selected as the Maxwell Clubhouse Member of the Month for January 2008.
